2015 – 2016
FoxBase is born
Carsten brought years of experience from IT consulting, while Ben previously worked in strategic marketing in retail. In their everyday professional lives, the FoxBase founders kept stumbling over the same issues: Big Data, AI or Omni Channel Commerce were supposed to simplify the shopping process... well, were supposed to. One important aspect was not solved, namely digital consulting.
Our founders made a decision: they will change that by revolutionising the shopping process and offering the customer real added value.
2016 – 2017
Off to the launch pad!
For the idea of shortening sales cycles so radically, our two CEOs were awarded a founder's scholarship by the Düsseldorf Economic Development Corporation and thus landed in the starting place.
They met a Henkel employee over a game of table football and found out that their solution was actually urgently needed in the B2B sector in particular. "Your solution for our industrial adhesives - can you do that?" was asked by Henkel at the time. "Well, of course we can!" No sooner said than done!
2017 – 2018
Next step: Software as a service
While working on the Digital Product Selectors for Henkel, the FoxBase team - which had grown in the meantime - came up with another idea: How would it be if we no longer developed and set up everything for our business customers on our own, but instead provided them with software that they could work with flexibly and independently? The idea led to our current Software as a Service model.
Now that was a milestone! The software got better and better and new customers were added all the time.
2018 – 2019
Digital Product Selector conquers the B2B industries
With any solution you develop, the question is: how big and real is the problem it is tackling? We wanted to know this early on, so we continued to collect feedback whenever and wherever we could. The feedback was clear: "Yes, we need this and why the hell hasn't anyone thought of this before?
Prizes like the ChemStartup Award at Startup-Con followed and the Digital Product Selector conquered the chemical, electrical, telecommunications and finally the construction industry.
2019 – 2021
FoxBase on the way to becoming a thought leader
The software became more and more flexible thanks to new features and numerous new customers from hidden champion SMEs to DAX corporations with the most diverse use cases were interested in the software solution. FoxBase introduced the "Digital[IN] - Digital Forum of the Industry", the first major event specifically dedicated to the topic of sales digitisation in the leading industrial sectors.
And in 2020, FoxBase finally moved into its first office, right in the centre of Düsseldorf, with around 40 employees.
2022
From start-up to scale-up
FoxBase is selected as one of 13 startups for the new scale-up programme of the state government of NRW, which supports high-growth startups in addressing the special requirements of rapid and international scaling.
Today we look back with pride, but at the same time we know that we are far from having arrived. We want to be at the forefront of innovation without ever losing sight of the needs of our customers. It's great that you have accompanied our journey to this point - or that you will continue to do so! Here's to the next milestones!
